Acceptance is the key to change

(NaturalNews) Most are familiar with the Serenity Prayer of Alcoholics Anonymous, presumably written by Reinhold Niebuhr in the mid twentieth century. Shortly after the adoption of the Serenity Prayer, another important observation was brought to light. Elizabeth Kubler-Ross developed the understanding of the grief process in her work On Death and Dying toward the latter half of the century. Dr. Kubler-Ross spelled out the five stages which occur during the process of grief: Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression and Acceptance. In fact, these stages occur during any change which is unwelcome. The person going through this process is already experiencing change. Acceptance is an integral part of this process.

No significant change takes place apart from Acceptance...

Upon consideration, one may think that it would be unhealthy to go around accepting everything. Indeed, some situations require change by definition. However, this judgment is based upon a misperception of Acceptance. The fact is, no significant, progressive change can take place without Acceptance. Any change that is forced, manipulated or otherwise conjured up in the absence of true Acceptance may only be partial and temporary, and often creates more Negativity. Positive change requires complete recognition of Truth and one`s necessary response in order to have complete effect.

Acceptance is not acquiescence; it goes hand in hand with Courage...

The reason Acceptance is a Virtue is because it requires daily application. If one reacts from the experiences of the past, he may be doomed to repeat its failures. If one attempts to force change, or becomes anxious regarding the future, Negative Energy will ensue. Acceptance takes life as it is right now. It does not resist consequences, outcomes or results from the past. However, it does acknowledge alterations that need to be made, ownership that needs to be taken.

Acceptance is more akin to facing Truth than it is to tolerating an unpleasant reality. It is Acceptance`s relationship with Truth that provides the necessary impetus for change. It is also this relationship which requires the virtue Courage in order to effect the necessary change.

For example, one who is in an abusive relationship must accept the truth that her life is possibly in danger. However, this is only one aspect of Truth. Another aspect of Truth may be the victim`s own contribution to her situation as the result of upbringing and a co-dependency on the abuser. The continued practice of Acceptance will lead to Serenity. One will soon realize that the art of living is not so much about figuring out what to do as it is in accepting life's situations and one's own resources and in embracing Courage in order to move forward.

Absence of Acceptance creates complexity and anxiety...

Change that is produced by force or manipulation and is based on deception or misperception will produce negative results. Many of the technological advances we have made are now producing negative consequences. Our foods no longer have the necessary nutrients we need to remain healthy. Children do not spend enough time outside and consequently have a deficit in vitamin D resulting in obesity, depression and a host of other illnesses. Unwillingness to embrace simplicity opens the door to Negativity.

More often than not, the solution to our problems is to apply Acceptance and embrace the simple, complete Truth. Wisdom often comes once Acceptance has been fully embraced. It is then that Courage may be needed to address the obvious.

It's Time for healthy forgiveness !

It’s time to step up: Deal with the guilt, shame, and crappy self worth; you are not a victim, unless you decide that’s what you are.
Start by making the decision to forgive yourself, and while you’re at it consider all the people you need to forgive because that’s not adding anything good to your resonance field either.

Do not believe all the crap you’ve been feed about forgiving everyone else first, that ‘forgiveness is a holy path’. Here’s why most of the people I’ve met who are preaching this kind of fertilizer are by enlarge emotionally shut down, full of buried resentment, topped off with a plastic smile.

That my friends is not, never will be, forgiveness.

I do agree that forgiveness can be a holy path, however, it needs to be ‘healthy forgiveness.’

Healthy Forgiveness has a very important level of accountability. In order to truly forgive we must first take full accountability for our part in whatever it was, (That doesn’t mean finding a new reason to beat the crap out of yourself) as well as seeing ‘their’ part in it.

Bottom line; not forgiving doesn’t help you or anyone else, but know this; healthy forgiveness has nothing to do with forgetting

There is no real forgiveness of another until we learn to forgive ourselves.
Carrying around all that guilt, shame and resentment is like carrying an anti abundance shield, so take my advice and dump it like a bad enchilada. It’s up to you, what I want you to know whether you believe it or not, whether you are experiencing it or not, this is an abundant universe. So drop your abundance shield, forgive yourself and decide what you need to do next. Or to put it another way:

Forgive and Let The Abundance Flow!

Expression and TIME

EXPRESSION AND TIME

http://www.nomorefakenews.com/index.php

DECEMBER 2, 2008. Despite all the challenges leveled at Time by modern physics and science fiction, people encase themselves by believing that tick-tock serial time marches to its own tune and thereby attains a godlike position. Unassailable. Independent.

Then they naively believe that expression moves along the same tracks, and if they are going to participate, they must ride on the train.

However, expression, which is to say, art, isn’t on the train.

This is an enormous fact.

Ordinary time is a long trough in which people assume treasures are hidden. A great deal of propaganda is floated to create that impression. The result, of course, is that people cling to the trough because they want the unspecified treasures. In the same way, onlookers are glued to the operator of a shell-game, because they believe there is a pea and it will be found under one of the shells. When people look at art, they search for the pea---which is the most comforting thing they are already familiar with. If they find it, they will put up with a lot of strangeness.

The theory of Relativity was a compromise. Ten people around a table looking at a turkey would see different angles and parts. Ten people situated in different locales throughout the universe would view a moving train with different experiences of time. But still, time was an It. It might become shorter or longer, it might be faster or slower, but it was still the granddaddy. The king. The central happening.

Through expression, which is to say, art, time vanishes. Another kind of time is being invented. Old tick-tock time becomes the voyage that wasn’t taken, because another voyage was made instead. Tick-tock time is the cut-rate vacation with the cheap seats and the motel on a busy street and a short pool and a rusty metal umbrella over a wobbly table.

The viewpoint of time isn’t important any longer. Who cares how you see the rusty umbrella versus how I see it?

When you are a child, you spend a few minutes lying under the dining room table in the dark on a Friday afternoon, and you hatch a million sparks. Compare that with ten years of sitting in church. Duration is meaningless. It’s a prize given to the loser.

Populations teach themselves to worship those notions that rule out art and all it implies.

At the core of all archetypes is the destruction of old time.

If you go back and read between the lines of the ancient Greek myths, you find that the gods were able to manipulate human space and time. Therefore, they were on the outside looking in. Humans were encased. However, all these stories were arranged around the notion of dominance. Politics. Power over. Bosses. Slaves. In the transmission of history down to us, something was lost. Something else. A vision that went beyond fate and beyond who was in charge and who submitted. What is missing is: humans beyond time. Humans who escape from their own illusion. The Greeks alluded to this in certain stories. Prometheus. Hermes. The messenger. The go-between. Half-animal humans. In other words, the Greeks used the idea of hybrids to convey the image of worlds without old time. But scholars deem it unimportant and vague.

Utilitarian language that is hammered out as a treaty between humans and old time is merely one device. Expression, which is to say, art, is another trillion kinds of languages. Xenophobia, the fear of strangers, is also a fear of new languages, and the apprehension that, if one were able to speak and express himself fluently in a new tongue, one would experience a different relation to TIME.

Do it anyway ! Mother Teresa

People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies. Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you. Be honest and sincere anyway.

What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight. Create anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous. Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, will often be forgotten. Do good anyway.

Give the best you have, and it will never be enough. Give your best anyway.

In the final analysis, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.
