Three steps to vibrant health

(NaturalNews) The human body possesses a powerful healing and regenerative chemistry. Examples of sudden and extraordinary healing - so called miraculous healing, demonstrate what this rejuvenate potential can actually do when it is truly unlocked. There is a three part process that awakens this deep healing power and it should be understood by all those who are interested in a long and healthy life. The more concentration in each of the three phases... the more powerful the healing and rejuvenation. I. Foundation Phase - Purification (Purification pertains to the blood) The bloodstream is the body's river of life, an incredible elixir that nourishes, moistens, and energizes the organ systems responsible for maintaining our physical existence. Because the blood performs so many crucial tasks in the body, keeping it pure and flowing is essential to our basic health and well being. When we detoxify the blood, we are establishing the foundation for health and rejuvenation. If the blood supply is permitted to become overloaded with toxins, then we are establishing the circumstance for inflammation, disease, reduced immunity and this suppresses the body's powerful regenerative chemistry. The following practices will serve the Foundation Phase of blood purity: eliminating manufactured junks foods, maximizing pure, raw and organic foods, colonics, lymphatic massage, sunbathing and herbal organ cleanses. II. The Transformative Phase - Rebalancing (Rebalancing pertains to the nervous system) The autonomic nervous system never stops working as long as we are alive. Operating independent of our conscious awareness for twenty four hours a day, it keeps all of our organs and all of the machinery that supports our life, running. In addition, it also processes a torrent of information coming into our senses in every minute of our waking day. When the nervous system becomes overloaded, we experience stress or a disharmony in the two phases of the system. The more disharmony in the nervous system, the more the body secretes it's own stress chemistry. This increases heart rate, narrows the circulatory system and pollutes the blood even more. Stress also suppresses the body's powerful regenerative chemistry. The following practices will serve the Transformative Phase of rebalancing: rest, pleasurable loving activities, massage, breathing exercises, conscious exercise, meditation, network chiropractic, acupuncture and harmonizing herbal formulas. III. The Regenerative Phase Rejuvenation (Rejuvenation pertains to the endocrine system) A network of glands set deep in the body, the endocrine system's pathways are the very means by which the energy and essences of nature are converted into the hormones and emotions of human life. The endocrine system has a reach that extends to literally every cell within us. This unparalleled reach, combined with its immense capability to effect hormonal change across the spectrum of human functions, makes the endocrine system home to the body's most profound regenerative potential. When the blood is pure and freely flowing, and when the nervous system is rebalanced and harmonized, we unlock the endocrine system's deepest chemistry; we uncork the secret spring of the regenerative life. The following practices will serve the Regenerative Phase of Rejuvenation: acupuncture, high potency super foods, Qi Gong, powerful hormonal precursor herbs . Traditionally this three phase process would be practiced in the context of a deep healing retreat. Under such conditions the healing effects can be extraordinary. Even so, right practice in any of the three phases grants healing results. See The Tao of Rejuvenation for the fully elaborated practice of bodily rejuvenation. Natural energizers !

(NaturalNews) Functional beverages are one of the hottest markets in the food and beverage industry. These drinks offer their customers unique benefits that often appeal to the health conscious. Some of these drinks are vastly overhyped and should be avoided. Other functional beverages are a fantastic support to one's health and performance. Functional beverages include sports and performance drinks, energy drinks, ready to drink teas, enhanced fruit drinks, soy beverages and vitamin waters among others. These drinks have become popular due to their appeal to consumers who are seeking unique health benefits offered by the specific drinks. Many functional beverages are promoted with benefits such as improving heart health, immunity, digestion, joint function, energy and satiety. The vast majority of these functional beverages contain several dangerous ingredients. These include sugar, high fructose corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, preservatives, synthetic vitamins, minerals and other nutrients. They are often times loaded up with stimulants that create an artificially induced energy rush. These drinks may contain certain anti-oxidants and other unique nutrients; however, the chemical residue is highly toxic. The ideal functional beverage contains absolutely no chemicals, additives and preservatives. It is found within real foods and is nature's answer to thirst. These drinks should be low in sugar or naturally fermented to provide mega-doses of high quality nutrients. Learn more: http://www.naturalnews.com/035634_functional_beverages_health_performance.html#ixzz1svJFzqFi Coconut Water: Young coconuts contain natural water within that is rich in potassium. It is isotonic with human blood and has even been used in many countries for blood transfusions. This sweet drink is fantastic for quenching thirst and recharging the body. Coconut water does contain sugar so it is better to ferment it with a coconut kefir starter. The coconut water kefir continues to have the benefits of coconut water with the addition of live enzymes, bioactive peptides, probiotics and beneficial yeasts to support digestion, energy production and immunity. Fermented Whey: Whey is a natural byproduct of cheese manufacturing. It is a 5% solution of lactose in water with minerals and lacto-albumin. When the lactose goes through a fermentation cycle, lactic acid, healthy microorganisms & natural enzymes are produced. It is also loaded with potassium and other critical electrolytes. Whey is an abundant source of branched-chain amino acids (BCAA's) and sulfur containing amino acids. BCAA's are used to fuel, build and repair muscles and joints. It is also rich in the sulfur containing amino acid cysteine. Cysteine is a critical agent used to make the super intracellular anti-oxidant glutathione. Kombucha: This fermented beverage is produced through a large pancake looking SCOBY (Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast). It is scientifically classified as a zoogleal mat. This drink is loaded with healthy yeasts, enzymes, electrolytes, bacteria and other microorganisms. There are many different flavors with unique superfoods that are added making synergistically unique functional beverages. Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) Drinks: ACV is a powerful tonic loaded with incredible living nutrients. The ACV should be raw, unpasteurized with the "mother" intact. The mother is the portion of the apple that is fermented and contains the source of the good bacteria and enzymes. There are many different combinations that provide unique synergistic effects with ACV as well. The highest quality functional beverages are fermented. The natural acids that are produced blunt the typical blood sugar response and enhance the bioavailability of the nutrient packages within each drink. The fermentation process naturally produces high quality B vitamins and electrolytes that are necessary for optimal energy production and inflammatory control. The enzymes and beneficial microorganisms that are created break down inflammation and work to scavenge free radicals and boost nutrient absorption in the gut. Keep cholesterol healthy with natural remedies!

(NaturalNews) Cholesterol is a natural byproduct of the liver and a necessary component of good health. Normal cholesterol is essential for cellular repair and development. It plays a critical role in the improvement of memory and learning, is the precursor to vitamin D production, and synthesizes sex hormones and natural steroids -- which control blood sugar, fluid balance and blood pressure. It helps to convert fats in the liver, and is a potent antioxidant acting to scavenge free radicals and reduce metabolic syndrome. The American Heart Association notes that cholesterol isn't dissolved in the blood and must be transported throughout the body by lipoproteins. Research indicates that HDL, the high density "good" cholesterol, guards the cardiovascular system. LDL, or low density "bad" cholesterol, can build deposits on arteries. Problems occur when HDL levels are reduced, creating inflammation in the cardiovascular system. Too little HDL cholesterol prevents production of pain-controlling steroid hormones, limits the body's ability to properly digest foods, and damages the body's ability to create energy reserves. Too little HDL leads to pain and inflammation, which is the real cause of heart disease, according to the latest studies. Learn more: http://www.naturalnews.com/035653_statin_drugs_natural_remedies_cholesterol.html#ixzz1svI1cSSG Natural remedies and cures help maintain normal levels of cholesterol without the need to take pharmaceutical drugs that produce dangerous side effects. Red Yeast Rice Chinese red yeast rice helps balance normal levels of cholesterol. Red yeast rice contains substances called monacolins, which are naturally-occurring and converted by the body to make a chemical inhibiting the production of cholesterol. One monccolin in particular, lovastatin, has been extracted and used in popular statin drugs, thus causing the FDA to view natural red yeast rice as an unproved drug and banning it in the USA. Consuming moderate amounts of natural red yeast rice as part of an overall diet helps maintain normal cholesterol levels. Extracting the active ingredient from the rice and using it in a drug formulation amplifies its effects, and may produce both muscle and kidney injuries. Supplies of red yeast rice supplements sold in the USA at this time do not contain any of the active ingredient to reduce cholesterol levels. Green Tea Green tea contains various compounds that lower LDL cholesterol levels. A study performed in Brazil where people consumed green tea extract in capsules resulted in a 4.5 percent lowering of LDL cholesterol levels. Nuts Eating nuts regularly, especially walnuts and almonds, may help reduce cholesterol levels of LDL cholesterol. Niacin Niacin, or vitamin B-3 helps lower LDL cholesterol levels as much as 10% and raise HDL cholesterol levels by 15% to 30%. Because of its many side effects, niacin should only be used under the supervision of a health practitioner. Artichoke Leaf Extract Artichoke leaf extract my help lower cholesterol levels by limiting its synthesis in the our bodies. Additionally, the extract may increase the flow of cholesterol excretion from the liver. Soluble Fiber Slow the absorption of cholesterol in the intestines by consuming foods such as oats, legumes, prunes, apples, carrots, broccoli and yams, all high in soluble fiber. Five to 10 grams daily can produce a 5 percent reduction in LDL cholesterol. Policonsanol Policonsanol is a dietary supplement made from Cuban sugarcane wax. It is not readily available in the US; however, non-Cuban products are available here which are made from beeswax or wheat germ. It is used to regular total cholesterol levels and is touted to be as effective as statins and red yeast rice. It may produce mild side effects such as digestive upsets, headaches and insomnia and can take two months or longer to show results.

Music heals !

(NaturalNews) Easy listening or classical music has been proven to increase healing rates of convalescing patients, researchers have revealed. Patients taking part in the study at John Radcliffe Hospital Oxford were split into two groups - one group underwent operations under local anesthetic and was played music during the operation, whilst the other group was operated on without music. Levels of anxiety were measured through the patients respiratory rate and asking them to rate their anxiety on a scale. Measurements were taken on the operating table prior to the operation, during the procedure and again at the end whilst still on the operating table. The results, published in the 'Annals of the Royal College of Surgeons,' showed that the patients who were played the music during their operations measured 29% less on anxiety levels and had a lower average breathing rate. The research was the first of its kind as it measured the effect of music on both planned and emergency operations. The music used was classical or easy listening music such as Vivaldi, Beethoven, or Sinatra. The anxiety before, during, and after an operation can release natural stress hormones that can cause inflammatory responses and therefore slow or prevent healing, leading to longer hospital stays and use of anti-inflammatory drugs. Learn more: http://www.naturalnews.com/035632_music_sound_healing_medicine.html#ixzz1sjfdDf2a Ia music or sound responsable? The power of music has long been associated with benefits due to releases of stress and the ability to change or enhance moods. Other research has studied whether the actual vibration of the music can have an effect on biological systems; the use of ultrasound on sperm producing capabilities is one of these. One thing that is often disregarded is, just as visible light is only a small fraction of the electromagnetic spectrum, audible sound is only a small fraction of the sound spectrum. The higher and lower frequencies of the sound spectrum such as VLF (very low frequency) and ELF (extremely low frequency) have been proven to be very powerful. Sound from music played live has a much more dynamic 'feel' as the live strings, reeds, drums etc. can vibrate independently in ways that a speaker cone cannot. These instruments emit on frequencies both inside and outside of the audible spectrum, and with a purity of sound that cannot be matched by technology. This is because all electrical devices are only designed to emit sound in the audible range. Whilst the calming and distracting effects of the music can be translated through speakers, the full effect of the vibrations cannot. This is a very interesting area of research that stirs some interesting questions such as, Are we affected by sounds and vibrations that we cannot hear in music? Are sound vibrations emitted from the earth? And how do they affect us? Are the sound vibrations emitted from electrical appliances (the humming) causing effects on our bodies? And so on. Calming meditation music is able to create a calming effect, helping the person to relax the parts of the mind that chatter and interrupt. Most of this music is of a kind that uses a multi layered, orchestral or nature based sound, causing the brain to have a kind of thought resonance, allowing the mind to 'zone out' the outside world. This is why people use it. Music has many more wondrous properties and this kind of research is a great start, however it is only scratching the surface of this exciting subject. The amazing healing powers of Cayenne pepper

(NaturalNews) When the famous master herbalist Dr. John Christopher was bothered by stomach ulcer problems as a student, one of his herbal instructors recommended young John drink a solution of cayenne pepper powder in water daily. At first, Dr. Christopher thought this was a contradiction. How could something so hot help his ulcers? But he bravely took the advice and to his surprise, it did cure his ulcers. Following that experience, Dr. Christopher become a zealous advocate of cayenne for both heart issues and for boosting the efficacy of some of his other herbal formulas. Christopher has even documented cases where he helped patients come out of heart attacks using only a teaspoon of cayenne powder in a cup of warm water. He isn't alone; there are several anecdotes of people recovering from serious heart attacks by downing cayenne teas or tinctures. (Sources below) One of Dr. Christophers interns, Dr. Richard Schulze, ND, MH, took up the cause proclaiming, "If you only master one herb in your life, master cayenne pepper. It's more powerful than any other." Both Schulze and Christopher recommend taking a half to full teaspoon of cayenne powder in water two to three times daily as an overall health tonic. Learn more: http://www.naturalnews.com/035612_cayenne_pepper_healing_herbal_medicine.html#ixzz1seKTu8P6 If you use cayenne, ensure it's organic. Even organic cayenne is inexpensive and the potential benefits are invaluable. The powder comes from various dried and ground chili peppers, all containing capsaicin (cap-say-sin). The amount of capsaicin is indicated by the cayenne powder's heat levels, measured in Scoville heat units (SHU) or heat units (HU). The lowest therapeutic level of SHU or heat units is 35,000. You will often find cayenne powder listed at 40,000, 60,000, 90,000 or 100,000 SHU or heat units. Unless you have a fondness for really hot spicy foods, you may want to start at the 40,000 level. Ultimately, moving up the heat line is recommended for optimum efficacy. Dr. Christopher liked to use warm purified or distilled water to mix in the fine cayenne powder. One-half to a full cup of water can be used for to mix a half or full teaspoon of cayenne that can be quickly gulped. Allowing the heat to permeate is part of cayenne's therapeutic value, which a reason why Dr. Schulze disdains cayenne capsules. Dr. Schulze endorses using a homemade tincture in addition to the cayenne tea. A tincture is easy to carry around and may provide an on-the-spot remedy for heart attack to avoid an ER trip when away from home. Learn more: http://www.naturalnews.com/035612_cayenne_pepper_healing_herbal_medicine.html#ixzz1seKlnGQl Cayenne's health benefits Cayenne powder serves as both a general tonic and a medicine. In addition to potentially helping cease the fatal throes of a heart attack, ingesting cayenne daily also clears clogged arteries while strengthening the whole cardiovascular system and the heart. It is also a valuable aid for digestion and elimination which can ultimately help heal hemorrhoids and ulcers. Both Dr. Christopher and Dr. Schulze assert that ingesting cayenne powder will boost the potency of the other herbs and supplements you're taking. In cayenne studies, scientists have demonstrated an 80% reduction with prostate cancers in mice and in human prostate cancer cells in cultures. The capsaicin in cayenne actually creates accelerated cancer cell apoptosis, or cellular self destruction. Cayenne pepper contains many beneficial phytochemicals, extremely bio-available vitamins C & E, and minerals, including the vital heart-health mineral magnesium. It cleans the blood, allowing hormonal signals to make their way unimpeded through your system and enhancing the immune system. You can choose to avoid Big Pharma's expensive toxic "solutions" for heart and other health issues using all natural solutions like this. Inexpensive, non-toxic cayenne goes well beyond culinary applications. Protect your heart with turmeric(curcumin)

(NaturalNews) Turmeric and its major active ingredient curcumin are among the top most clinically studied spices and herbs today. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) lists 24 studies. Western science is investigating via double blind placebo human test, animal testing (in vivo) and test tube petri dish culture testing (in vitro) what has been known and practiced for centuries by Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Ayurvedic Medicine of India: Turmeric is a highly effective anti-inflammatory without adverse side effects. Turmeric can be taken directly from its plant root or used in foods with powder ground from the roots. Turmeric is used in curries, giving curry its yellow color. Curries are a large part of Indian and Southeast Asian cuisines. Curcumin extracted from turmeric and placed into capsules offers an inexpensive but intensely therapeutic method of using turmeric's active ingredient. Learn more: http://www.naturalnews.com/035615_turmeric_heart_curcumin.html#ixzz1seJbxtVd The new study A recent study involved heart bypass operation patients in Thailand. Dr. Wanwarang Wongcharoen led a research team from Chiang Mai University at the University Hospital. They studied 121 consecutive patients who had non-emergency bypass surgery at the hospital between 2009 and 2011. They were all given one gram pills four times daily, three days before the surgery and five days after. However, half were given sugar pills (placebo group) and the other half was given curcumin capsules. Neither group of patients nor their doctors knew who was taking what. Only the research team knew. The curcumin group had a 65% lowered risk from post bypass operation heart attacks. That group also showed significantly lower levels of inflammation and oxidative stress markers in their blood. The findings were published in the American Journal of Cardiology. Learn more: http://www.naturalnews.com/035615_turmeric_heart_curcumin.html#ixzz1seJodAla Turmeric and curcumin applications Although curcumin capsules are considered ideal for extreme conditions, Dr. Andrew Weil recommends using whole root turmeric powders in food often for preventing inflammatory conditions, considered the root of most coronary, chronic and autoimmune diseases. Cooking and adding black pepper or mixing the powder with fats like coconut oil helps digest the turmeric's curcumin, which is normally a bit difficult to assimilate. Curcumin capsules should be enteric coated to preserve the curcumin as it passes through digestive juices for assimilation by the small intestines into the blood stream. Having heart surgery while being injected or fed all sorts of pharmaceuticals provides an intense breeding ground for cardiac inflammation. That's what made the Thailand study so dramatic. Dr. Dwight Lundell, a retired heart surgeon with 25 years of experience with 5000 surgeries, asserted that inflammation is the root cause of heart disease, not cholesterol or fat. He determined this by actually viewing inflamed inner artery walls. He explains that inflammation creates atherosclerosis (artery plaque), which occurs from ingesting too much sugar and HFCS (high-fructose corn syrup), toxic processed trans-fats, processed low fat foods, and an omega-3 to omega-6 imbalance. He further asserts that reducing cholesterol with statin drugs is hazardous to your health, since much of the brain, nervous system, and cell walls throughout the body need cholesterol for their composition (http://www.naturalnews.com). Turmeric and curcumin have also shown positive effects on preventing and reversing Alzheimer's disease and relieving many types of arthritic conditions (http://www.naturalnews.com/029767_turmeric_alzheimers.html). Some studies indicate curcumin curbs cancer cell proliferation, even causing some of them to self destruct. There's quite a list of actual positive results from an inexpensive, effective and safe herb or herbal extract. The fact that coronary disease is still the number one killer in the USA, it would be wise to avoid statin drugs' adverse effects, which includes death by heart failure, while consuming healthy amounts of turmeric powder or curcumin capsules. Chronic stress increases Alzheimer's risk

(NaturalNews) Alzheimer's disease is characterized by an initial loss of short term memory and the ability to form rational and permanent thoughts. Protein tangles known as tau aggregates strangle neural synapses, blocking the vital flow of neurotransmitter and electrical signals necessary to form memories and personality. Once considered a disease of the aging, this form of dementia is increasing at a startling rate in younger individuals, largely due to a processed and refined food diet, environmental factors and long-term chronic stress. Researchers from the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine have published the result of a study in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, explaining the mechanism behind continual exposure to stressors so common in our rapid-paced lifestyle, and the unnatural accumulation of insoluble tau protein aggregates in brain tissue. They explain that neurofibrillary tangles are one of the physical hallmark signs of Alzheimer's disease, and have been shown to contribute to disease progression in people under chronic stress conditions during the course of past studies. Learn more: http://www.naturalnews.com/035620_chronic_stress_protein_tangles_brain.html#ixzz1seIQA1yV The study team, using a mouse-based model, noted "we found that repeated episodes of emotional stress, which has been demonstrated to be comparable to what humans might experience in ordinary life, resulted in the phosphorylation and altered solubility of tau proteins in neurons... these events are critical in the development of NFT pathology in Alzheimer's disease." Researchers determined that the effect was most pronounced in the hippocampus of the brain, an area linked to the formation, organization and storage of memories. The scientists are quick to note that the type of stress that is associated with the development of tangles in the brain is not acute stress, defined as a single, passing episode. They determined that chronic, long term stress that never ceases is far more threatening to the brain and promotes tau protein aggregates to accumulate. Acute stress is actually considered useful for brain plasticity and helps to facilitate learning. Chronic stress continually stimulates and activates stress pathways in the brain that lead to pathological alteration of stress circuitry in the brain. The researchers describe chronic stress as too much of a good thing gone bad. Lead study author, Dr. Robert Rissman commented on their findings "As people age, perhaps their neuronal circuits do too, becoming less robust and perhaps less capable of completely rebounding from the effects of stress." Certainly we cannot entirely eliminate stress from our daily lives, and the results of this study conclude that small amounts of acute stress are important to maintain brain plasticity and for the formation of new memories. The problem arises when the level of stress never abates, and our brain is unable to recover from the massive amount of new stimuli we experience from chronic stress. Reduce your stress level to a minimum, as this will provide yet another crucial lifestyle modification that can help prevent chronic illness and ward off Alzheimer's disease.
